Crow

Another ref sheet! Yay! This was a character that I had a little bit of free reign on, as well as a lot of working with the commissioner to get it just right. I really love doing both of those things, because it usually ends up being an awesome piece of art AND I have some really nice conversations with the commissioner in the process. A win-win, more or less. ^.^

So this is Crow! He's a striped hyena with an emphasis on sharper, more wolf-like features. I actually had no idea that striped hyenas were a type of animal until this commission, which is both embarrassing and hilarious. The cool thing about striped hyenas is that they have a big poofy mane, and they actually look more doglike/wolflike then normal hyenas. I'd suggest doing a google search if anyone is curious about them!

I personally think the pose and expression in this one turned out really nice. I also worked with a few new photoshop features to try to speed up my process, and it ended up giving me more time to work with the commissioner and nail down a design he really liked. All and all a good experience with this one.
