Grandma

So, here is Grandma. It's not my grandma, or one of my parent's grandmas, or anyone that I know, actually. It's just Grandma.

Now, you all know how I normally don't draw people. But, for painting class we had to paint a portrait for one of our projects. It was funny though, because one of the teacher's hints was that when painting wrinkles on people, we shouldn't paint them too dark or else the person will end up looking really old. So, I thought to myself, "I should find a picture of an old person and paint that; then I can't screw up by making their wrinkles too dark!"

So, I went out on a search, scouring across the internets for a grandma. I scaled huge cliffs, walked across vicious sandstorms, crawled through murky swamps, all until I found the perfect grandma picture. (Okay, so I totally googled it and this was one of the first people that came up, but whatever.)

Anyway, this is the first painting that I actually tried really hard on, and so I'm pretty happy with the results. And, for totally winging the background, I think it turned out rather well.
