Kaft: Contest Entry

Wow, now if this isn't an experimental piece, I don't know what is. This is my entry for contest. What she wanted the participants to do was to make a piece that depicted once of her three characters; Malaria, Nedaskarein, or Kaft. I chose Kaft who is, in a nutshell, the last Manticore in existance. He protects himself with natural magic and basically stays alone, so I thought it fitting to put him by some trees and, hell, have him helping one grow. I dunno, natural magic, growing trees... it made sense at the time.

Otherwise, this is also the first painting I've done in a long time. Hell, this is like the 4th or 5th painting I've done ever! It didn't scan nearly as well as I would have liked, but I figure it looks good enough for now. Oh, and the wierd circle background? Yeah, I saw that in some picture a few days ago, so I decided to give it a try. I kind of like how it turned out, really.

There are some glaring anatomy problems and such, but on the whole, I think it looks alright. Yay for contests, they make me feel like I'm accomplishing something!!
