Stardust

This is an image I did for school that was painted on two different wood boards of different sizes. It started out as a collaboration piece, where each of the people on my group did a different part of a body. I got the torso, and the final project did end up looking pretty cool. Once it was done, however, I just had a floating torso to take from it and so I decided to add another piece of wood to the piece, creating a head. Thus Stardust was born, a strange reptilian creature burping white dust into space.

I hope to add on a third wood piece one day that will complete the image, maybe some legs or a snake lower body that will be curled around the earth. For now this still looks pretty cool, however, and so if I never get around to adding the third part it won't be a huge deal.

Painted with acrylic on gesso'd wood, and a black pen for outlines and details.
